PRICING
It is next to
impossible to put a standard pricing list together for the various
services Cornerstone provides. Two separate projects, though
similar in nature, can have completely different pricings. The
following are some factors that will effect the costs of a project…
Deadline:
will your project be a rush order (you needed it 3 days ago), or
will there be an adequate window for production?
3D Modeling:
*
How complex is the structure/item?
* Are there a lot of
straight lines or are there multiple curves and contours?
* Are the
objects simplistic in nature like a solid landscape wall versus
detailed wrought iron fencing?
* Is there an existing CAD file to
work from or are we starting from scratch?
* How busy is the
scene? Is it structure only, or are there lots of amenities such as
furniture, light fixtures, appliances, etc.
* Will there be other
items like people, animals, plants, vehicles, etc.?
Rendering:
* Will objects be single colored or are there specific
patterns and textures in the scene?
* Will realistic material mapping
be necessary including levels of reflection and shine?
* Is there a
specific lighting schematic for the project or will general lighting
work?
* Is the scene or object being rendered a stand-alone, or will
it need to be incorporated into another photograph or image?
* What
will the render be used for… will it need to be high resolution for
printing, or low resolution for web base use?
* Are we only prepping
the scene or object for one or two snapshots or are we looking to
run an animation?
Graphics &
Presentation Layouts:
* How many images are we using?
* Will there be any
special effects applied to the images?
* Will additional graphics
(other than the generated renders) to be used within the layout
provided to us, or will Cornerstone be creating them?
* What will be
the necessary resolutions and file types of the finished layouts?
Physical
Modeling & Prototyping:
Pricing for these services are effected by many of the
same factors.
* How complex will the model be?
* Are there CAD files
to work from?
* What all needs to be incorporated into the model?
* What materials and finishes are desired?
* How big or small will the
model be?
* Does the model have a function, moving parts, or is it
wired for lighting effects or some other electrical function?
* Will
there need to be any special provisions for packaging/delivery of
the finished model?
Hopefully these questions will offer some insight to what kind of
things need to be considered in order to put a price together for
your project. |
